Allan Dovigi DDS MS is an Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist, a specialist with residency training in pathology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. This training included clinical oral medicine and surgical pathology, which is the microscopic diagnosis of disease from a biopsy. During his residency Dr Dovigi had rotations in general pathology with medical colleagues. This included performing autopsies, molecular pathology, and various other general pathology aspects of medicine.  Many systemic diseases first appear in the mouth, and many oral manifestations of systemic diseases can be managed.
